Yvette E. Dumas

Yvette E. Dumas, a member of Becker & Hebert – Attorneys and Counselors at Law. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting in 1989. She attended Loyola University New Orleans Law Center in 2000, and thereafter transferred to the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center where she graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Law degree and a Juris Doctor degree in 2003. Ms. Dumas was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2003.

Prior to joining Becker & Hebert, formerly Becker and Associates, Ms. Dumas' primary practice areas were insurance defense and toxic tort litigation. Ms. Dumas assisted in many toxic tort class action lawsuits and performed extensive research regarding toxic substances and governmental and regulatory requirements regarding releases of toxic substances. Ms. Dumas' background in accounting reinforces her work in her current practice which involves commercial, real estate and business law, where she performs business transactional work in addition to residential and commercial title and curative work for local, regional and national clients.

Ms. Dumas is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts and the Western District of Louisiana. She is an active member of the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Young Lawyers Association and the Acadiana Mortgage Lenders Association.
