Jeremy A. Hebert

Jeremy A. Hebert, a principal member of Becker and Hebert is a graduate of the University of Mississippi (B.B.A. 1995) and Tulane University School of Law (J.D. 1999). Mr. Hebert has been a practicing attorney for eleven years with a primary focus on business, commercial and real estate transactions and litigation.
 
Mr. Hebert is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts; the United States District courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana; and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Lafayette Parish Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Louisiana and American Associations for Justice.

Mr. Hebert, along with the other attorneys at Becker and Hebert, has a practice that serves local, regional, national and international clients, and encompasses a broad range of financial, corporate, commercial, real estate and business law transactions and litigation, and also select personal injury, maritime, environmental, mass tort and class action claims. He is actively involved in the Acadiana Mortgage Lenders' Association, the Realtors Association of Acadiana, the Acadiana Homebuilders' Association, the Louisiana Land Title Association, the Louisiana Mortgage Lenders' Association and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers. He also has extensive real estate title insurance litigation experience and is also a licensed title insurance agent for the State of Louisiana and for several major title insurance underwriters including Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Stewart Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company.

Mr. Hebert has litigated cases that have been reported in the Pharmaceutical Law and Litigation Report published by the National Litigation Bureau. He has been involved in several class action cases including two pharmaceutical drug class actions for defective drugs and/or failure to warn of certain side effects and one class action involving a physician and his intentional and negligent actions during the course of treating patients. In such case, Mr. Hebert served on the class action steering/executive committee and as chairman of the finance and hours committee. He successfully represented over 120 individuals and businesses in a mass tort train derailment, chemical exposure and evacuation case against one of the largest train companies in the United States.

Mr. Hebert is also the president and co-founder of a local Lafayette-based company providing mobile medical diagnostic services to nursing homes, rehabilitation hospitals, long term acute care facilities, physicians' offices and home health agencies throughout Louisiana.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hebert practiced law as an associate attorney with the firm of Voorhies and Labbe' in Lafayette, Louisiana where he worked in the maritime and non standard section defending insurance companies and their insureds in admiralty, maritime and general casualty claims.

Mr. Hebert was born in Metairie, Louisiana and is happily married to Gaylyn L. Hebert and has three wonderful daughters, Anne Mclain, Amelia Claire and Ella Grace.

Mr. Hebert was a member and president of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity while he attended the University of Mississippi, and his hobbies include hunting, fishing, exercising and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
